STOP BULLYING!

The book Bystander, by James Preller is a exciting but sad story that keeps you guessing the whole way through. It teaches kids about real life situations and bullying. Over the course of the book he grows to love things like basketball, and he has to take the fact that even if he got bullied in his life he can’t bully or he would lose what he really loves in basketball.

What did I do wrong? That’s what kids getting bullied these days ask. Frankly, I really don’t get why someone would want to hurt other people. I am immensely against bullying and it should never happen. You might not see it, but it happens every day. Kids getting made fun of, and just getting hurt, mentally and physically. Believe it or not, the bullies get bullied too. Whether it’s at home, or even in school. That is one of the reasons kids bully these days. They want to put the kids through the same pain they suffer. I think it’s really sad because kids get beat up for no reason. Honestly, there is no point in bullying anyways.

On the other hand, the author got his point across very well in this novel. James Preller used very good word choice and it helped tell the lesson he was intending to point out. James Preller describes the bullying very well. Almost as if I was getting bullied. I have been bullied in my past. It wasn’t always fun. Every day I would get the “You’re stupid” or the “No one likes you”. I just said thank you and walked away. Eventually they stopped because they knew it didn’t affect me. That was huge for me.

On top of all of this, bullying happens so many ways now. People will bully over the internet, they will rip on them to their face, and even physically hurting these innocent kids. Bullying happens the most over the internet because they think they are safe. What they don’t realize is that people actually commit suicide because of the hatred language people use. I wish I could stop bullying altogether but it’s not that easy. Everyone has to pitch in for this goal to be accomplished.

The book Bystander by James Preller is a sad story that involves people hurting others because they have been hurt. Bullying is something everyone needs to stop because it really doesn’t help anything.

  1. I really liked your essay. It was very persuasive. I liked the message and the advice that you sent to the world. One thing that I would change would be at the very end, you just told the same thesis. You might want to change that up but otherwise I really liked it. If I had to do a scale 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, I would give you a 15. It was that good. Keep up the good effort!
